About the Role
Lead complex IT projects and ensure good quality of deliverables to fulfill business needs; and assist the Chief Technology Officer to formulate IT strategies, monitor and provide regular updates to management on project progress and status of service requests.Duties / Accountabilities
- Lead complex IT projects and ensure good quality of deliverables to fulfill business needs;
- Assist the Chief Technology Officer to formulate IT strategies, monitor and provide regular updates to management on project progress and status of service requests;
- Keep abreast of new technologies and provide advice on appropriate IT solutions to internal users;
- Develop, enhance and review system workflow, functional specifications, system specifications, technical specifications and system manual;
- Gather business user requirements and prepare functional specifications;
- Ensure all projects and service requests are implemented with proper test results, sign-off and technical documentation in line with IT Standard/ Guidelines and with proper management control;
- Provide advice to internal users on subjects related to the use of Information Technology;
- Manage resources and provide coaching to team members on various matters, including but not limited to self-discipline, work commitment, team spirit and customer-oriented;
- Prepare project documentation, budget, cost & benefits analysis, system feasibility study and IT product/solution evaluation.

- Good understanding of IT System Development Life Cycle and project management methodologies by using waterfall and/or agile approach. Experience on DesOps / CI / CD is a plus
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
Education/Work Experience
- University degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
- Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience in insurance industry a must with at least 5 years’ project management experience at managerial level;
- Experience in implementing core insurance applications will be an added advantage;
- Good knowledge in AS/400 RPG, COBOL, CL programming and Policy/400;
- Experience in leading Project Office an advantage;
- Experience in relational databases and application development;
- Hands-on work experience in project management, business analysis and system development.
- Familiar with various IT platforms, including multi-tiers system architecture, Agile development approach and IT System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
