About the Role

As a Senior Associate – Portfolio Management, reporting to the Chief Credit Officer and Senior Management members in Credit & Risk Department, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the loan portfolio accounts. You will focus on monitoring borrower accounts, managing delinquencies, and implementing strategies to minimize default risk. Your role will involve close collaboration with the Legal and Compliance team, Credit team, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient portfolio management and timely resolution of delinquent accounts. Are you ready to take on this exciting challenge and make a difference? What you need to have

  • Portfolio Monitoring and Analysis
    • Monitor the performance of loan portfolio, tracking loan repayments and identifying early warning signs of payment difficulties and potential delinquencies.
    • Utilize data analysis to examine portfolio trends, delinquency rates and risk exposures, enabling informed decision-making and effective risk mitigation strategies. 
  • Delinquency Management
    • Proactively handle delinquent accounts by closely monitoring payment patterns and initiating appropriate collection actions. Implement targeted collection strategies to address outstanding issues.  
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to assess the viability of restructuring options for distressed accounts. Additionally, demonstrate the ability to liaise with external legal counsel, credit insurance companies, and debt collectors when dealing with delinquent and default cases. 
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Prepare accurate and timely reports on delinquency and recovery rates, and portfolio performance for management review. 
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to portfolio management and delinquency resolution. 
  • University degree or above in Legal, Finance, Accounting, or other relevant disciplines; 
  • Proven related experience within the financial services industry; 
  • Strong understanding in risk management and loan recovery in a trade finance and finance segment; Knowledge of cross-border e-commerce industry would be a plus; 
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to lending and financial services; 
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and assess credit risk; 
  • Able to work independently and self-motivated, proactive, detail-minded and target oriented; 
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills and a team player able to work with internal and external legal counsel and business partners in a fast-paced start-up entity; 
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications is required; 
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned; 
  • Willing to undertake occasional business trips in various locations; 
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, Mandarin (Cantonese and Mandarin is a must)
